First, when all is said and done, the product looks great and they clearly went to great lengths to provide good instructions, they separated and labeled parts excellently, and I'm quite happy with the end product. I rated it down one notch for a couple of reasons (maybe picky). First, I didn't know to expect two boxes and they arrived three days apart which cause me minor confusion. Second, it took me a bit more to understand how to interpret their instructions. The images are small (for me, at least) and it led to some confusion about direction of certain parts, until I got to understand their approach better. Also, I've never seen holes so much smaller than the bolts and screws going in them - it works great, it just threw me at first. I've assembled many items in my life, and I've actually built some things from scratch (aka not a kit). Still, it did take me about two and a half hours to assemble, not rushing. Still, I do love the product! It was time to replace my clunky old desk with one that has more open space for my legs (as well as to provide room for part of my computer audio system) so after reviewing several possibilities, I landed on this one from Techni Mobili. I didn't need anything overly expensive and this desk fit the bill. It has enough storage drawers (only option: left side) and a nice open flat surface for my laptop and other assorted accoutrement. The assembly instructions are well written in proper English and very easy to follow. A Phillips head screwdriver is included and really the only tool necessary, although there was one time when assembling the right side leg structure that I needed to utilize a flathead screwdriver to align a couple of bolt fasteners. The 'studs' on this structure are adjustable in order to level the desk. Not needing the keyboard tray, I didn't assemble it which provided me with even better leg room vertically. I was in no rush putting this together, so I cannot tell you how much time it might take someone to complete it. I can say that everything fit together as advertised and the desk has a good solid feel to it. Note: In the past when faced with attempting to assemble furniture, I usually have had a few choice moments of frustration and words to go along with it. I had none of those issues this time around. This is much better than I was expecting from some of the reviews posted on this product. I found it to be very nice looking and very functional. It wasn't difficult to assemble but it was time consuming. Nice blend of wood look and metal accents, more modern than the old kid desk design! I do wish they offered the option to swap out the keyboard slider for another drawer as a lot of us have moved to laptops in lieu of full size computers with separate keyboards. Contrary to others complaints on the drawer sizes, I had no problems putting in an organizer in fact a two layered one like for junk drawers. It holds everything paperclips, staples, pens, high lighters just a ton of stuff. The other drawers work just as well. I think the only improvement I would make is to put a small shelf on the left side towards the back on a nice chrome cylinder like what's under the desk. Kind of like a small floating shelf, adds room and style. The open shelf over the drawers is nice sized and can be used for many different things. I do suggest a desk pad as to not wreck the desk while writing. Even a calendar will work. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is based on the pain of having to mess with the drawers to get them to have the same reveal between them, it's a pain! I chose a physicians chair for mobility and it works great. Small easy to shove under desk when not using back is removable too! The one in the photo is quite high though much higher off ground than my docs chair! so make sure you get right floor to but pad height :) here's the link if interested, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0019QF7JI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1the but pad is wide and very thick and comfy. The desk is great, really like it and have no problems with it, it's a chocolate color which was also a nice feature and it has a rougher texture than those cheap laminates, this ones a bit better. I settled for one that had a bit of damage as it was less hassle than packing it back up and shipping back and starting over. The assembly is a combination of wooden dowels, screws and lag bolts, the sad part is the wooden dowel come pre installed and were smash to bits due to shipping/handling and being bounced around as packages are. Replaced them at hardware store, so just be aware of it. Also one corner of desk top was dented and one scratch. Still worth the purchase and hopefully you fair better.I have been using this desk from last 6 months and absolutely loved it. It satisfied all the need for a small office at home.Desk looks great. Very functional. Was an absolute beast to assemble. Not a one person job
