I wonder if someone can tell me what happened to sheets in the last 30 years? When I was a kid and when I was first married, I could buy a set of sheets from anywhere - cheap ones from department stores - and they were crisp upon opening, and softened with washes and use. There was no thread count; no localized type of cotton, none of the qualifiers that we see today. I'm puzzled.Anyway, that said, these sheets are marvelous. The pockets are very deep - I have a memory foam topper (separate from the mattress) on my already thick mattress and I had a lot of difficulty getting sheets to stay in place. These fit like a dream and stay where they should. They are so comfortable next to my skin; very soft and soothing. They get softer with each washing and still fit on my bed easily. I will definitely buy these again.
