I am confused. In October I ordered a "1200 Thread Count Three (3) Piece King Size White Stripe Duvet Cover Set, 100% Egyptian Cotton, Premium Hotel Quality." The merchant listed was Dales Big Deals. The set was $41.01 + $17.98 shipping. The order came and I was delighted with the product--great real substantial cotton items with a beautiful striped weaving pattern. And so, I ordered another set by using the buy-it-again button. As it turns out, the second set of items were listed as sold by Nilebedding for $41.00 + $6.99 shipping. Both sellers (Dales Big Deals & Nilebedding), however, were listed as somehow being affiliated with Luxury Egyptian Bedding. The same basic photos and text materials were used for both sellers--Dales & Nilebedding. Today the second set came. It came from India. The first set did not. Moreover, the first set has a duvet cover that buttons closed, whereas the second set has a zipper. The cloth in the two sets is not at all the same. The second set is striped material, but the material itself is rougher and much less refined in its finish. Set one is smooth and the woven striping is pronounced. Set two is not smooth. It is kind of lumpy, and the woven striping is barely detectable Set one is much better material. Much better.To make the puzzle one bit more challenging for me, tonight I went back to the orders I placed for these two duvet cover sets. I navigated back to the pages from which I ordered. One (Dales) has what is apparently the same set, but now it's $65.00 + $4.95 shipping. The other (Nilebedding) is still offering the set, but now it is $65.00 + $4.99. Again, same photos and mostly the same text. I'm sure there is an explanation for all this data, but I don't pretend to know what it is. The products sold in this system are not, however, the same. I fear that buying for anyone will be hit or miss.And so, I have given the duvet set (here) four stars, because the better of the two I would rate at five stars, but the lesser of the two I would only give three stars. Finally, I wish two things: (1) I wish that I knew what exactly is going on here, and (2) I wish that I had two duvet cover sets like the first one that I got from Dales--it really is much better cloth.This lasted me about 5 years which is a great run for a duvet cover imo although this is my first one. However, it doesn’t have any loop ties to keep the comforter in place, which is a huge design flaw. As such ill be purchasing a different one to replace it.I did so much research regrding this purchase that I crossed my fingers and just finlly pulled the trigger.I like it. It's not nicer than I expected and maybe it could be a tad nicer, but it delivers.It's lightweight, which is what I wanted it to be. I like that the closure is a zipper and not buttons. I might say that it is a bit smaller than my king sized duvet that is in it. It's kind of bunching at one end since it is smaller. Isn't a deal-breaker, I suppose, but it is worth noting for help with someone's future possible purchase.I got white and there is a dark mark on my down comforter that is inside and I cannot see it through the cover. Some people complain about seeing through. I don't see through this one.Shipping: Delivery was at least 10 days earlier than they told me to expect. It came from India. Having it arrive earlier was a nice surprise.The cover is cheap looking and the cotton is thin, they put a zipper for the opening, which is also a cheap zipper and the minute it breaks you are screwed because is has no ties inside to hold the Duvet in place. The stitching is done poorly with threads hanging off all the end points for the machine process, and the threads are lightweight and single stitch.It took over a week to be delivered, it looked like it had been a return item because it was just folded up, the package was marked as a King and the product turned out to be a California King. Unfortunately I had been waiting that week it took to get here (They claim they make it custom per order) to use it so I took the packaging as accurate and washed it, when I went to put it on the bed is how I found out it was not the correct size, .I have requested a refund and now find that not only are they not paying for the return postage, they are only going to give me 50% of my money back claiming Amazon Policy because I washed it (could be my bad), so to return it is not worth my effort or investment in the postage.I always read the negative reviews for a product to see if the rating is legit or based upon improper expectation to judge my risk and whether I can live with the worst case scenario, that is not the case here. I promise you this is NOT worth the money and certainly not in light of how they stand by their product for an Amazon Prime member.It's soft and very white. The decorative edge around the shams don't really stand up (like the photos) they flop over and look sloppy.You get what you pay for. It's quality matches the price. I've had it for about 4 weeks now. I washed it right out of the packaging due to a slight odor. After two washes the material is starting to get little fuzz balls. I pulled on a small thread in the middle and now there's a tiny hole, which I'm sure will get larger with time.I am so happy with these. They we're the perfect color, very similar to the photo. The pillow cases fit the king size pillows perfectly, they have a 3 inch boarder around them. The duvet and cases have a beautiful light/dark sheen to them. I bought a king size because I like how it hangs off of a queen size mattress. My king size comforter fit well, although I did not find anything in the corners that hold the comforter in place. The duvet closes with clear buttons, I like zippers, but the buttons are decently hidden by being tucked in once you button it closed. Oh, did I mention how soft they feel? I feel like a queen. I thought this was an affordable price for the quality providedI'll update my review after some washesThe material is great, the size i ordered is perfect, and the color is accurate to the picture. I washes well without shrinking, but I did not completely dry in the dryer and only damp dried then hunk to finish drying.I love my new white duvet cover set. I have a big doubt that it is 1200 TC, feels much thinner, but I still like it. I like that the duvet cover has a zipper, that prevents other things from getting inside it when washing. It does not have anything inside for tying it to the blanket but it's not necessary if the blanket is not slippery. It gives a pleasant no-rough touch to the skin. I also bought a "burgundy" set, but that one turned out to be raspberry, not burgundy. But with the white one, no disappointments.Very cheap
